Daily Gratitude - A Journal

On a day that nothing particular happened, I suddenly had the idea of starting a gratitude journal, just to finish off a sketchbook I didn't fancy too much - starting with my very comfy couch.

I didn't know how long I was going to keep up with the habit, but the act of paying attention in my day to day, taking note of small moments that brought me joy became a habit I wasn't ready to stop yet.

February of 2020 is when I started the consistent style of pencil crayon square in an accordion sketchbook I had and continued for 275 days. The habit continues today! I try to meditate on that moment of joy and only that when I do the squares, even though sometimes it isn't the prettiest doodle. The continued act of few minutes of appreciation every day can do wonders for the heart.

Showing gratitude can start anytime, in any form – may it be scribbles or words, or telling the person next to you how grateful you are for them everyday :)
